Deep Dish Sausage Pizza
Deep Dish Sausage Pizza
My mother in law made this when I had just had Lena.

network we saw this recipe. I simplified it by buying store bought dough and sauce. And I don't have an after picture because we demolished it.
Ingredients
1 tube of refrigerated store bought pizza dough
1 jar store bought pizza sauce
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 lb Ground Spicy Italian Sausage
1 Ground Italian Sausage
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded Asiago cheese
8 leaves fresh basil chopped
Corn meal for dusting
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Meanwhile, brown both sausages in a skillet with olive oil, breaking it up as it cooks. Remove from heat and drain the grease out. Combine the Asiago and mozzarella cheese in a bowl.
To assemble the pizza sprinkle corn meal, a few tablespoons on the bottom of a 10 inch spring form pan. Next, take the pizza dough and press evenly on the bottom and about 2 inches up the sides of the pans. Add half the cheese to the bottom of the pizza. Top with half of the sausage. Then cover the sausage in pizza sauce leaving about a 1/4 cup for the top. Next, add remaining cheese then remaining sausage. Then dollop the top with remaining 1/4 pizza sauce. Place pizza on a baking dish and make sure the rack in your oven is in the middle. Bake for 20 minutes then cover with foil and rotate. Bake for additional 20 minutes. Remove pizza from oven and let rest for 15 minutes. Remove tin foil and remove the pizza from the spring form pan.
Sprinkle with fresh basil and cut into slices.
