Pork Chops with Red Wine & Garlic Sauce

Pork Chops with Red Wine & Garlic Sauce

This is SO good. Nothing like red wine and garlic.
This recipe is from the Pioneer Women. I served it with mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
4 boneless or bone-in (which ever you prefer) pork chops
2 Tablespoon olive oil
3 Tablespoon butter
Salt & Pepper
16 cloves of garlic
1 1/2 cup red wine
1 Bay leaf
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Directions
Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over high heat. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt & pepper. Sear the pork chops until golden brown about 3 minutes per side. No need to cook all the way through at this point. Remove from skillet and set aside on a plate.
Reduce heat to medium high. Add garlic cloves. Stir around until golden brown. A few minutes. Add red wine and bay leaf. Cook stirring around until the wine is reduced, several minutes. Add beef broth and pork chops back to skillet. Add balsamic vinegar. Stir around and cook until sauce is reduced and pork chops cooked through and garlic is soft. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Remove the garlic and smash with a fork on top of the pork chops. Serve with the wine sauce on top.
